Chocolate chip muffins are fabulous, but these Chocolate Sensation Streusel Muffins are sensational. The HERSHEY'S Natural Cocoa and HERSHEY'S SPECIAL DARK Chocolate Chips give the muffins the signature chocolate flavor, but the sweet, crumbly streusel puts these over the top. A perfect complement to any breakfast, brunch or cafe menu, these muffins are the ideal upsell item or point-of-sale item for cafes, restaurants, hotels or caterers.

  • STREUSEL TOPPING
  • 8 oz.
    salted butter
  • 8 oz.
    sugar
  • 10 oz.
    all-purpose flour
  • 1-1⁄2 oz.
    HERSHEY'S Cocoa, Natural (Item# 63505)
  • 5 lbs.
    basic muffin mix
  • 1 lb. 8 oz.
    HERSHEY'S SPECIAL DARK Chocolate Chips (Item# 14122)

Heat convection oven to 325°F (standard oven: 375°F). Line muffin pans (2-1/2 inches in diameter) with paper baking cups.

Prepare STREUSEL TOPPING: Stir together butter, sugar, flour, and HERSHEY'S Cocoa in large bowl. Using your fingers, a fork, or a pastry cutter, work the butter into dry ingredients until crumbs are formed. Set aside.

Prepare muffin mix as directed on package for Full Batch. Gently stir in HERSHEY'S SPECIAL DARK Chocolate Chips. Fill prepared baking cups 2/3 full with batter. Sprinkle approximately 1 tablespoon STREUSEL TOPPING over top.

Bake 18 to 25 minutes.* Cool in pans 3 to 5 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool.

Tip

Step 4: If using convection oven, rotate pan one-half turn (180°) after 9 minutes of baking.
